If hardwood is classic, then tile is timeless. Natural stone dates back to Ancient Egypt, floor mosaics to Ancient Greece and ceramic tile to Ancient China. Nowadays, tile retains its timelessness and its prestige—whether ceramic, porcelain, glass, natural stone or slate, it adds both solidity and sophistication to any space.
Porcelain or Ceramic?
Clients often ask us: which is better, ceramic or porcelain tiles? The answer depends on where you plan to install it. Since porcelain clays are denser and less porous than ceramic clays, porcelain tile is harder and more impervious to moisture. This makes porcelain more suitable for high-traffic flooring, and high-moisture areas.
