Tuscany Project
Project Description
When a water line leaked and damaged their kitchen floor, the owners of this lovely home in Calgary’s Tuscany neighborhood decided to pursue an impromptu renovation. They also booked an impromptu vacation at their B.C. cabin for three weeks and figured that should be enough time to renovate the flooring, cabinets and the backsplash in the kitchen. Ambitious…but it worked out nicely, thanks to the combined efforts of Floorscapes and Legacy Kitchens. The homeowners came back freshly sun-bathed to a brand new, modern kitchen and beautiful new hardwood floors.
Check out the hardwood: it has been upgraded from a standard 3 ¼” to a wide plank 6 ¼” Engineered White Oak. Great choice. The old floor had an old-school, glossy, amber look to it, but the natural finish and the hand-scraped texture of the new hardwood gives the room a new tactile lightness. Most importantly, though, their dog Sadie seems to feel very, very comfortable in the new space.
